Background of Initiative

Mambo Waterfall Ecotainment Resort is a niche business initiative with a broad aim to develop Mambo Waterfall into a modern resort that will lure in not only domestic tourists but also international tourists and as well as promote tourism development in Sierra Leone.

Mambo Waterfall is a newly discovered waterfall in Sierra Leone that is pulling a lot of Tourist.  The Waterfall is said to have an alluring ambience that gives Tourists a never ceasing appetite for visit.

The initiative could be implemented in phases or can be implemented at a go based on resources available.

Activities to be Undertaken

Different activities will be undertaken at the Resort and even offshore the resort. Activities will comprise of tangible and intangible services provided by the Resorts to Tourists, training of Resorts Staff and also activities by Tourists.

Tangible and Intangible Services to be provided by the Resort:-

●  Guesthouse Chalets (maybe 2 for a start)

●  Event hall (maybe 5 of different capacities)

●  Souvenir Shop

●  Photography Studio

●  Make Up Shop/ Unisex Salon

 ●  Chairs and tables for rentage

●  Power System

Trainings

√  Training of Tour Guides

√  Training of Caterers and Housekeepers

√  Training of Photographers

√  Training of Staff in areas of Handwork such as beads, raffia bags, wood

     work etc.

√  Training of Tourism journalists who will be in charge for writing of all

    activities and others promotional writing.

Tourist Activities on the Resort

Tourists Activities at the Resort could be:-

Motivation for the Initiative

The initiative is aimed to salvage the problem of unemployment, therefore it will cater:-

■  For Youths who have attained their BECE but could not further their

    education.

■  Children in the street

■  For trained unemployed persons in related discipline

■  Reduce number of untrained youth by equipping them with basic related

    skills.

Justification for the need for Fund

Establishing a resort is capital intensive coupled with the provision of trainings to youths on specified areas above, hence there is a dire need for a robust sponsorship scheme to enable the achievement of outstated goals.

Technical Activities and Financial Breakdown

1. There should be a thorough technical research on the geo-physical nature of the environment of the waterfall environs to know whether our proposed activities and facilities to be provided can fit in.
